Russ Naylor sent me the following in response to my report on the pre-season friendly against Rainhill Town.

Hi Mark,

Just for the record Ford's No.9 was Liam Pearson(Peo to his team-mates).A Henrik Larsson look-alike, he has been linked with a move to Cables in the past.He broke his leg and wants to get his match fitness up before considering any move elsewhere. He could definitely play at a higher level.A nice guy,Liam also works part-time as a barman at The Vic in Rainhill alongside Vinnie Freeman.

As you no doubt noticed Fords do have players who can play more than a bit. Their No.6 was Ashley Elliott who is moving to Atherton L.R.Their No.10 was Andy Morris (Mozzer to his team-mates) who was a full-time pro with Wigan Athletic. He is also going to Atherton L.R. He's 25.
