Errors in match reports: When Cables are attacking I am either focussing my camera to try to get a good action shot for the website or trying to stop my notebook and pen from falling on the floor! Not only that, but I have the world's worst memory for names and faces! With these factors to take into account it is inevitable that there will sometimes be mistakes in reports (e.g. the wrong player credited as having put in the cross that led to the goal). I email my reports to the non-league paper early Saturday evening (home matches only) then put them on the website and email them to the programme editor. If you spot a mistake it will probably be too late for the NLP, but if you email me I will correct any mistakes on the website version and arrange for the corrected version to be in the next match programme.

Cables 3 Leek Town 1

Cables came from behind in this UniBond Premier League match to win with three impressive goals.

Leek took the lead in the ninth minute when a clearance from defence found its way to Rob Hopley who lobbed Cables' goalkeeper Zak Hibbert.

The visitors' lead was only to last twelve minutes before Darren Byers shot home to make the half-time score Cables 1 Leek Town 1.

There were chances for both sides in the opening exchanges of the second half but neither goalkeeper was really troubled until Phil Cooney crossed the ball from the right after 69 minutes and Liam Kennedy headed the home side into the lead.

Leek showed why they are in relegation trouble as they failed to mount an effective comeback and it was no surprise that the final goal of the game was scored by Cables. With only six minutes remaining Colin Flood crossed from the left to substitute Eamonn Price who blasted the ball home to make the final score Prescot Cables 3 Leek Town 1.
