Errors in match reports: When Cables are attacking I am either focussing my camera to try to get a good action shot for the website or trying to stop my notebook and pen from falling on the floor! Not only that, but I have the world's worst memory for names and faces! With these factors to take into account it is inevitable that there will sometimes be mistakes in reports (e.g. the wrong player credited as having put in the cross that led to the goal). I email my reports to the non-league paper early Saturday evening (home matches only) then put them on the website and email them to the programme editor. If you spot a mistake it will probably be too late for the NLP, but if you email me I will correct any mistakes on the website version and arrange for the corrected version to be in the next match programme.

Cables 1 Ossett Town 1

Two goals in three minutes made sure the sides shared the points in this end-to-end match.

Both sides had attacks in the opening minutes, but the first clear-cut chance fell to Cables' Eddie Taylor who shot wide after 11 minutes. Six minutes later it was Ossett's turn when they failed to capitalise from a goalmouth scramble and Cables cleared the danger.

The visitors continued to press forward and Blake Norton had a close-range shot well saved after 19 minutes. Close-range misses seemed to be in vogue in this spell as Eamonn Price did the same thing four minutes later.

With a little over half an hour on the clock Price again came close when goalkeeper Paul Cuss tipped his shot over the bar.

In the closing minutes of the half the home side failed to take advantage of a series of corners on the right-hand side and the half ended goalless.

Ossett had the first goalmouth chance of the second half when Simon Baldry had a shot saved. The visitors continued to push forward and Cabes were very relieved when Phil Cooney cleared the ball off the line after a corner from the left seemed goal-bound. Another corner was very well handled by Zak Hibbert in the Cables' goal.

Midway through the half Norton's goalwards run was ended by a good tackle by Cooney. A minute later Stephen Johnson shot over for Cables.

With 72 minutes on the clock a cross from the right found Scott Jackson in space. Jackson made no mistake with his shot and the score was suddenly Cables 0 Ossett 1.

But the visitors' lead only lasted for three minutes. The ever-impressive Ryan Wade crossed the ball from the right to Darren Byers who made the scores level.

There were numerous chances for both sides in what remained of the match, with Wade, Taylor, and Johnson all coming close for Cables and Jackson and Aiden Savory for Ossett. The final score was Cables 1 Ossett Town 1.
