Prescot Cables - Player profiles 2007/2008
Craig Bryan (Goalkeeper) Wirral based keeper, made his debut for Prescot last season. Returned from Cammell Lairds in Summer of 2007.
Richard Mottram (Goalkeeper) Signed from Leek Town in Summer of 2007.
Lee Smith (Full Back) Signed from Warrington Town in Autumn 2005, Lee made his debut at Leek Town in November 2005 and established himself playing in either full back role.
Scott Murphy (Full Back) Young Kirkby based full back plucked from local football in Summer of 2007.
Marvin Molyneux (Full Back/Midfield) Marvin came to Prescot in September 2005 from Warrington Town. Has also played with Vauxhall Motors and Burscough. Powerful striker of a ball and solid defender.
Karl Bell (Central Defence) Vastly experienced defender at this level. Signed for Prescot on the eve of the 2006/07 season, Karl‘s playing career spans St Helens Town, Caernarfon Town, Ashton united, Rossendale United and latterly Burscough.
John Stannard (Midfield) Experienced box to box player who signed for Prescot in the Summer of 2006. Previous clubs include Marine and Witton Albion.
Eddie Taylor (Central Midfield) Local lad Eddie has passed the 400 appearance mark and has been a permanent fixture during Prescot‘s success over recent years. Club captain who never gives less than 100%.
Steven McEwan (Midfield) Locally based player who is now in his second spell at Prescot, having had a brief period at Burscough. No frills worker in the heart of Cables midfield.
Michael O‘Donnell. (Midfield) Mike is one of the longest serving players at Hope Street. Tireless worker on either flank of Cables midfield. Mike has also played at Maghull, Runcorn and Marine.
Stephen Johnson (Midfield) Joined Cables from Burscough in July 2006. An attacking skilful midfield player.
Thomas Moore (Midfield) Tall midfield player who can also operate in central defence. Thomas was recruited from local football in August 2006.
Karl Connolly (Forward) Another Prescotian who has come full circle after a career in the Football League. Left Cables for Wrexham where he was a big favourite. Karl then made a big move to Queen Park Rangers and was a regular at Loftus Road for a number of seasons. Also played for Swansea City. Over 500 appearances and 120 plus goals in the top flight. Assistant Manager.
Carl Rendall (Forward) Now back for his third spell with Prescot, having returned from Leek Town in the Summer.
Eamonn Price (Forward) Impressed Prescot when playing for Bootle in the Liverpool Senior Cup. Signed for Cables in November 2006 and immediately made an impact with vital goals.
Franny Barry (Wide midfield) Franny was a late signing for Cables last season, making a couple of appearances. Previously with Southport, Burscough and Kendal Town.
Darren Byers (Forward) Leading scorer in last seasons Liverpool County Combination Premier Division, Darren signed for Prescot in Summer 2007 with a big reputation as a goalscorer.
Joe Gibbons (Defender) Signed from Chorley in Summer 2007.
Vinnie Freeman (Forward) Liverpool University student who has previous experience at Barnet.
Lee Owens (Midfield) A product of Prescot‘s youth set up. Strong and versatile, a bright future in the game is the expectation.
Jonathan Bathurst. (Midfield) Another of Prescot‘s youth team to step up to the first team squad. Strong with a good turn of speed.
Andy Gray (Manager) Former experienced non-league player, Andy had been assistant to Tommy Lawson during his five year spell at Prescot. Now in his third season as Manager.
